The Largest Hawkeye Huddle Ever!
More than 20,000 Hawkeye fans gathered for this black and gold celebration
held at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The event included refreshments
and concessions, special guest
speakers, cheerleaders, dance
team, Herky and the Iowa Hawkeye marching band. Admission was free and was
cosponsored
by the National I-Club and the UI Alumni
Association.
The large Miami Convention Center was a great place
to host the Huddle.
Fans filled the Center from wall to wall.
Orange Bowl Committee VP Larry Gautier appreciates
the huge Hawk turnout and lets them know they have
set a record for fans traveling to Miami from outside
the state of Florida. Iowa Hawkeyes
purchased more than 47,000 tickets for the 2003 FedEx Orange Bowl.

The Hawkeye band played their hearts out as they
pumped up the crowd.
