What's Happening:
Senior Send-Off 2012 — April 23-29
The University of Iowa Alumni Association (UIAA) and S.T.A.T. (Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow) wishes our graduating seniors the very best! Our Senior Send-Off (SSO) gives future graduates the opportunity to celebrate together one last time before officially becoming UI alumni.
FREE Tickets
Graduating seniors will receive a postcard by Friday, April 13, with vouchers for a free drink at Last Lecture and a free grilled cheese at Marco's. If you have not received your postcard by April 13, please email Kerry Jones.
Herky Photo Shoot
Monday, April 23, noon-3 p.m., Old Capitol
Take a keepsake photo with Herky on the east steps of the Old Capitol and fulfill one of the items on the "47 Things to Do at Iowa" list. The photos will be featured on UIAA Facebook.
Team Trivia Night (registration required)
Monday, April 23, 7-8 p.m., Atlas Restaurant
Put your UI knowledge to the test and join us for our Iowa-themed trivia night! Gather a team of five and get ready to answer questions that cover everything from the university and the state of Iowa to Hawkeye sports and music. Attendees will receive one free drink (alcoholic beverages reserved for 21 and older) and there will be a cash bar. Winning team members will receive prizes. Register today!
The Last Lecture
Thursday, April 26, 7-8:30 p.m., Hotel Vetro
Take time to reflect on your years at the UI and hear your chosen professor give an inspirational lecture. Past speakers include Ken Brown, Frank Durham, and Mitch Kelly. This year's professor is Dr. Shaun Vecera from the Department of Psychology. The first 50 seniors to arrive will receive a gift. Be sure to bring your FREE drink ticket, provided with the SSO postcard, to redeem prior to the lecture. Graduating seniors who do not receive a postcard by April 13 should email Kerry Jones.
Marco's Madness
Friday, April 27, noon-3 p.m., Ped Mall
Head downtown for a free, delicious grilled cheese from Marco's, compliments of the UI Alumni Association! You must show the FREE ticket from your SSO postcard.
Dodgeball Tournament (registration required)
Sunday, April 29, starting at noon, Kinnick Stadium
Come raise money for Dance Marathon and UI Children's Hospital. Participants will not only help the hospital continue to offer outstanding care for children, but they'll also be able to say, "I played ball on Kinnick turf!" Register today.
