What's Happening:
Our Mission
The UIAA is establishing a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Affinity Group that will serve as a supportive and professional network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied alumni while fostering a sense of pride in and commitment to the University of Iowa and the alumni association. The group will also provide educational resources on LGBT issues; offer networking and social events; and support current LGBT students at the University of Iowa.

Your home away from home—the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Resource Center (LGBTRC) provides a supportive and inclusive environment, along with programs that empower students, faculty, staff, and community members to excel in academic endeavors, experience diversity, engage in activism, make positive choices, and serve their community.
Anniversary Celebration—October 28-30, 2011
The fifth anniversary celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Resource Center (LGBTRC) was held October 28-30, 2011, in Iowa City. The celebration was a collaborative initiative among the University of Iowa Alumni Association; Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (formerly Office of Student Life); Center for Diversity and Enrichment; University of Iowa Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Staff & Faculty Association; Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allied Union (GLBTAU); and TransCollaborations. Weekend festivities included the Friday evening rededication ceremony and reception, Saturday programming and dinner, GLBTAU Drag Ball, and other events.
Rainbow Alumni Network
The mission of the Rainbow Alumni Network is to provide opportunities for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT), and allied students, alumni, parents, and supporters to serve as advocates for the University of Iowa, influence the role and direction of the university, encourage each other's intellectual enrichment and professional growth through forums and presentations, network and socialize, and elevate the stature of the university through Rainbow Alumni Network programming.
