A Modern Couple's Guide to Making it Work

Are men intimidated by smart women? Can a dual-career couple make it work? How can you maximize your chances of finding love if you're single this Valentine's Day? Expanding on the groundbreaking research from her first book, Why Smart Men Marry Smart Women, and providing insight and advice from her newly released book Marry Smart: The Intelligent Woman's Guide to True Love, Dr. Christine B. Whelan offers practical tips for modern couples trying to make it work, while finding personal happiness, too.
 
Single, in a relationship, or married, this interactive presentation will highlight Dr. Whelan’s extensive research on the evolution of relationships, including step-by-step instructions for successful relationships. Dr. Whelan provides special advice for all those SWANS® (Single Women Achievers, No Spouse) including an odds-of-marriage predictor in her latest book. Copies of Dr. Whelan’s books will be available for purchase at the event.

Presented by Dr. Christine Whelan:
Dr. Whelan earned her master's degree and doctorate from the University of Oxford and has been published in the Wall Street Journal , The Washington Post, and The New York Post. She writes a bi-weekly relationship advice column for BustedHalo®, a young-adult website. She has appeared live on television and radio programs across the nation. A current visiting assistant professor in the University of Iowa Department of Sociology, Dr. Whelan has written two books about living a fulfilled life in relationships.
