Steve C. Firman
Steve C. Firman (76BSPH) was born into a pharmacy family in Nashua, Iowa, but unlike his father and grandfather before him, he chose to go to the University of Iowa for his pharmacy education. Steve and his wife, Jean, live in Cedar Falls. They have two grown children, a daughter who is married and living in Cedar Falls and a son in West Des Moines. Steve has had a varied professional career, serving as a hospital pharmacy director, staff member for the Iowa Pharmacy Association, owner of a community pharmacy practice in eastern Iowa, and now CEO of a national marketing company that manages relationships between state pharmacy associations and national pharmacy specialty companies. He also has a government relations consulting firm. Steve is an active community and pharmacy volunteer. He is a past Chair of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy Alumni Association where he served as a Board member for 15 years. He is currently a member and past Chair of the Board of Iowa Public Radio and a member of the Board of Western Home Communities, a large continuing care retirement community in Cedar Falls. He is very involved in state and national pharmacy organizations and has served on numerous pharmacy related boards and committees. Steve is an Old Capitol Club Gold member of the Alumni Association.
