Jeanette M. Schierbrock
Jeanette M. Schierbrock (72BA, 72SE) became a UI Student without a campus visit in 1968. While on campus, Scottish Highlanders, Alpha Xi Delta, Phi Upsilon Omicron, Honorary Home Economics, and Angel Flight were a few of the activities that shared time with her UI studies. Jeanette and her husband Tom (70BS, 74DDS) met at a ROTC event on campus and have celebrated 42 active years of marriage. They have one son (07EE) and his wife (10MD). Jeanette retired from teaching science (88MS-UN) and from organizing student programs, but to this day, cannot resist a "teachable moment," especially to spread the word about various UI programs. Jeanette enjoys being with her family who are all UI graduates and hopefully that will include her grandson, "H." She enjoys educational and community service, golfing, travelling, and meeting new people. She wears black and gold often while working UI College Fairs, I-Club or IOWA Club events, or when supporting UI student athletes and performers at home and away. She is honored to serve with the Alumni Association Board of Directors and to work with others who also are "Proud to be a Hawkeye!" Jeanette and Tom are Life members of the Alumni Association and UI Foundation Presidents Club members.
