An Evening at Jasper Winery

Join the UI Alumni Association (UIAA) for a relaxing, educational, and entertaining evening at Des Moines' Jasper Winery. Tour the facility, examine grape vines, indulge in a variety of good food and wines, and learn about the growing Iowa viticulture industry and proper wine etiquette and terms. Whether it's your first time in a wine tasting room, or you're a seasoned wine aficionado, you'll appreciate this evening of Hawkeye spirit, food pairings catered by Gateway Market, and local Iowa wines.

During this event, UI Alumni Association members will receive a ten percent discount on all bottled Jasper wines.

UI Alumni Night at Clive After Five – THIS FRIDAY

Join your Hawkeye friends for good music, fun, and drinks at Clive After Five at Linnan Park as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of this Friday night summer gathering.

When: Friday, June 18, 2010
Time: 5 – 8 p.m.
Where: Linnan Park, 8500 Alice Avenue (just east of 86th Street), Clive

Admission is $5 and includes 2 free drink tickets. UI alumni and friends will receive a special gift. This week’s band is K-Top (formerly known as Kountertop).

Volunteers needed for University of Iowa exhibit at the Iowa State Fair

Alumni and friends of UI are needed to help at the University of Iowa exhibit at the Iowa State Fair Aug. 12-22. Volunteers will distribute University of Iowa information, athletic schedules, posters, and temporary tattoos. We’re looking for friendly, energetic volunteers who can interact with the thousands of fairgoers who come through the exhibit. Volunteer shifts for Aug. 13-15 are filled, but we still need volunteers to help for the remainder of the fair. Sign up at http://www.uiowa.edu/statefair/volunteers/
