For the fourth time in six years, the Hawkeyes took home the Cy-Hawk Trophy. Iowa kept Iowa State out of the end zone for the tenth-straight quarter in the series to claim a 17-5 victory.
September 20
Both Jake Christensen and Ricky Stanzi saw time on the field during the Hawkeyes’ 20-21 loss at Pittsburgh. Iowa running back Shonn Greene made an impressive showing with 147 yards on 23 carries, two catches, and one touchdown.
September 27
Iowa fumbled a 14-point halftime lead against Northwestern for a 17-22 loss at Kinnick Stadium.
October 4
The Hawkeyes fell 13-16 to Michigan State. Though Iowa slipped to a 3-3 record, the team was only nine points away from a 6-0 start.
November 8
A 31-yard field goal by Daniel Murray lifts Iowa to a 24-23 win against No. 3 Penn State.
November 22
Iowa dominated Minnesota, 55-0, in the first Hawkeye shutout of a Big Ten opponent during Coach Kirk Ferentz’s career.
