Glymur waterfall (highest at 600 feet) in Iceland in July. Herkey made the 2 hour 1800 elevation hike without breaking a sweat!

Doug and I chose to wear our Iowa shirts to show our loyalty. Iceland is amazing with 11% glaciers and 25 active volcanoes--numerous waterfalls and hot springs.

Herky on Holiday Catalog Contest

Each year the UIAA asks readers of our Iowa Voyagers Tour Catalog to submit the locations of the hidden Herky within the catalog photos. We randomly draw the winner of a traveling Herky doll. If you are a UIAA member, look for the 2011 Tour catalog in August or call to request one at 800/469-2586.

2010 Winner
Marie Read, a UIAA Old Capitol Club Member, of Marion, found all six hidden Herkys in the 2010 Iowa Voyagers Tour Catalog. Marie took her new Herky traveling mascot on the 2010 Iowa Voyagers tour to Egypt.

2009 Winner
Janet Vavra of Antelope, CA, was chosen at random after submitting details of the eight hidden Herkys that she located in the 2009 Iowa Voyagers Tour Collection. Janet took her Herky to Antarctica—follow Janet’s and her traveling companion’s adventures. (Include slideshow) Click on the middle of the image to view captions.
