Join the UI Alumni Association at Chicago’s trendy Zocalo restaurant for a relaxed evening of alumni networking, followed by a presentation by Dr. David Perlmutter, director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He’ll discuss the impact of social media on your personal and professional brand, as well as on the job search process. Dr. Perlmutter will also explain how you can better create and manage your brand using social media to set yourself apart in an increasingly competitive environment.

Alumni and friends of the UI School of Journalism and Mass Communication are invited to a special reception at 5:30 p.m., prior to the social media and marketing presentation, to network, receive School of Journalism and Mass Communication updates, and discuss ways to connect with the school.
About Dr. Perlmutter
Perlmutter is a professor and director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and a Starch Faculty Fellow. He has written eight books and hundreds of articles on persuasion and politics. A highly sought-after political researcher and educator for presidential campaigns, Perlmutter has been interviewed by most major news networks and newspapers, from the New York Times to CNN and ABC, and, most recently, The Daily Show.
