The UI Alumni Association and the UI Center on Aging present an Tuesday, April 1, 2008 Center for Active Seniors, Inc., (CASI) Library In the 2006 election season, Iowans ranked the topic of stem cells as their second most important issue, after minimum wage. Why is there so much hope in stem cells? Because, say medical experts, they have the potential to treat otherwise incurable diseases. In this presentation, Dr. Nicholas Zavazava will reference specific medical conditions in a discussion of stem cell research, its problems and difficulties, and advances at the University of Iowa.
