Iowa-Michigan Game Watch

While 30+ Memphis Iowa Club members attended the Iowa Michigan game in Iowa City, some 25 Iowa Hawkeye fans cheered the Hawks on to victory at the game watch at Gill’s Bar and Grill on Saturday afternoon, October 4th. It was an exciting game and a great Hawkeye win.

Five of the Hawkeye fans at Gill’s were a group who make an annual outing each year to a Game Watch. The group all lived in Slater dorm from 1977-81. Those making the trip to Memphis were (see picture below):

They found our Game Watch by visiting our web site and through e-mail follow-up with Club President Tim Theisen. The men planned to celebrate the Iowa win by enjoying some famous Memphis Ribs and a visit to Beale Street later in the evening. And, of course, no visit to Memphis would be complete without a trip to Graceland. The group plans to meet in New Orleans for a 2004 Game Watch.

We’re excited to have Iowa Hawkeye fans join us at the Game Watches each week. We’ve been joined the last few weeks by other fellow Hawkeyes from Birmingham, AL, and Conway, AR, as well as the above group.
