NEO Iowa ClubHaving lived in Iowa, Minnesota, and now Ohio, the thing I have missed the most about Iowa has been the Iowans. Whether native to Iowa or having come to the University of Iowa from out of state, we all recognize the special qualities that Hawkeyes possess.
Our NE Ohio Iowa Club is only 5 years old. In that time, we have banded together to earn a national Iowa Club award, organize a local Big Ten golf outing, make a mass donation to a local food shelf, and enjoy numerous social gatherings. Through all of this we have established friendships and found it easy to strike up conversations with strangers who somehow seem familiar – other area Hawkeyes.
Thank you to all who have volunteered to make this club and its various events possible. Often we are simply drawn together to celebrate sports events, but more and more we are finding various new ways to gather and have fun. We look forward to continuing to try new things and welcome participation and ideas from everyone.
