"I've met people I will remember for my entire life."

Why did you decide to attend the University of Iowa?
The UI had an impressive engineering program that made me feel very welcome. I also wanted to go somewhere that was new to me. Even though the UI is only three hours from home, it was a big change for me to live in a different state and to meet people who were from different parts of the Midwest, the country, and even the world.

What does it mean to you to be a UI student—a Hawkeye?
Being a UI student means always taking pride in the Hawkeyes, during and after my time here at the university.

What do you value most about your UI education?
I've been very fortunate to receive an education from the UI. Here, I'm challenged in my coursework every day, all the while knowing that my professors and TAs are on my side, going out of their way to make sure I learn what I need to learn.

What are some outstanding memories of your time at the UI?
Most of my memories come from being involved in anything and everything I could—Greek life, S.T.A.T. Ambassadors, residence hall government, volunteer work, professional organizations, and more; the opportunities at the UI are endless. My favorite memories at the university are, and always will be, Hawkeye football games! There's nothing like a Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium.

How have your UI experiences or friendships changed your life?
My experiences at the UI have been unforgettable, and I've met people I will remember for my entire life. So many people here come from such a variety of places, from small towns to big cities; it's been exciting to learn about and experience different ways.

How does your involvement with the UIAA help you make the most of your time at Iowa?
Being involved with the UIAA has given me an entirely new perspective on the university and its relationships with current and past students. I've become more and more impressed with how much pride people have in the university after their time here; it's shown me how important and beneficial it is to remain active with the university.
