 Come to the Relay for Life Event!Join Paradise Iowa Club in the fight against Cancer at the Fort Myers Relay for Life on April 18, 2008 @ 6:00PM @ the Lee County Sports Complex Twins Stadium. If you are good at eating pizza we would love to sell you some slices of Ron Dao’s pizza, just find the Hawkeye tent. Wear Black and Gold and show your support, and take in the Hawkeye ambiance…with all the tents, food, and great people you will think you are in Iowa City on Game Day! Champs! The Hawkeyes scored 117.5 points on their way to the 21st title in program history and first since 2000. Ohio State finished second -- 38.5 points back. It was the largest winning margin for an Iowa team since Dan Gable's last squad obliterated the tournament scoring record in 1997. Iowa crowned two individual NCAA champions and named seven all-american wrestlers. Metcalf was named Outstanding Wrestler of the Championships, and Hawkeye Head Coach Tom Brands was named NWCA Coach of the Year. Annual
Scholarship Dinner
What a night for breaking records! We had 109 attendees, and raised over $2,700 in one night! Thanks to everyone for your generosity and Hawkeye spirit. Our scholarship fund to the University of Iowa has now reached $10,000! We will also be using some of the monies for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
