Brian Hummel, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a proud alumnus of the
University of Iowa College of Medicine where he received his medical degree and
completed a cardiothoracic and vascular fellowship. He is board certified by
the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is
a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Chest
Physicians, and American College of Cardiology. He is the senior partner of Gulfcoast
Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons, a very successful cardiothoracic and
vascular practice with 11 talented surgeons in Fort Myers and Naples, Florida.
The practice’s surgeons specialize in all aspects of cardiothoracic and
vascular surgery including the newest robotic minimally invasive surgical
techniques. Dr. Hummel has been named to “Who’s Who” and has been designated as
one of the “Best Doctors in America.” Dr. Hummel moved to Florida from Iowa in 1985. In 1990, he
opened his practice in Fort Myers where he and his family have lived ever
since. His practice has expanded significantly over the past few years.
Originally, he primarily focused on cardiothoracic patients, but expanded to
include vascular and vein patients by merging with another highly successful
vascular practice in 2005. Demand caused the practice to grow again and expand
to the south into Naples, Florida. Gulfcoast
Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons and The Vein Center at Gulfcoast
Surgeons are highly regarded as among the very best practices
in Southwest Florida. University of Iowa
