second tier of seats was added to Chicago’s Wrigley Field in 1927;
afterwards, the ballpark hosted the World Series in 1929, 1932, 1935, and

coming under control of the Commissioner’s Office in 2001, major league
umpires were hired and supervised by the respective league presidents, resulting
in differences in uniforms, equipment, and positioning behind the plate and
