The University of Iowa’s Afro-American House turns 41!

Mark your calendars to return to Iowa City September 18-20, 2009. We’ve planned a weekend celebration with a variety of activities for alumni of all ages.

Most importantly, we want to share memories and show our support for current African-American students on campus.

Since we created a social networking website for black alumni in April 2008, more than 400 people have signed up to keep in touch by posting information, videos, memories, and announcements.

People in the online community soon began talking about a “Black Alumni Network” reunion, so we formed a committee to make it happen and contacted our campus partners—the UI Alumni Association, the Center for Diversity and Enrichment, and the Afro-American Cultural Center—for assistance. We invite you to join the conversation today!
