Registration Update: While we are able to continue to accept registrations beyond the 9/4/09 deadline, please know that people registering after 9/14/09 will not receive a t-shirt due to printing timelines.
Schedule of Events
Friday, September 18:
All events on Friday will be at the African American Cultural Center (Afro House) – map
- Registration, 3–9 p.m. - Pick up your registration materials, reconnect with old friends, and see the changes to the Afro House.
- Rededication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, 5–6 p.m. - Join current UI faculty, staff, students, and alumni as we celebrate our community on campus. Alumni representing each decade will be present to provide a brief Afro House reflection.
- Meet and Greet, 6–9 p.m. - Use this time for casual conversation, food, card games, and celebrating good times in Iowa City.
Saturday, September 19:
- Iowa vs. Arizona Tailgate, 12:30 p.m. - 2:35 p.m. (kickoff) – Join your classmates and current students for a cookout as we prepare for a Hawkeye victory against Arizona. Visit www.HawkeyeSports.com for complete game details.
- Tickets are no longer available.
- “Old Skool vs. New Skool” Party, 10 p.m.–2 a.m. at the Iowa Memorial Union Ballroom – A D.J. will be spinning on the ones and twos and reflecting all decades from the 70s to the present! Represent your decade to the fullest!
Sunday, September 20:
- Gospel Breakfast Celebration Featuring Voices of Soul, 9–11 a.m. at the Iowa Memorial Union, Main Lounge (Please note location change)
Join us for a casual breakfast, complete with gospel music and inspirational words.
Cost: $12/person
Refund Policy: All cancellations made after Friday, September 4, are non-refundable.
