What is happening in the European economy? Why has this happened? Will the EU and the euro survive? How does the turmoil in Europe affect the U.S.? What can the EU and the European Central Bank do to restore economic stability?

INSTRUCTOR: Bill Albrecht joined the UI faculty in 1965 and is currently a professor emeritus of Economics. He has worked on domestic and international economic policy as a legislative assistant in 1974-75 to U.S. Senator Dick Clark, and served from 1988 to 1993 as a commissioner and acting chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). After returning to Iowa in 1993, his research focused on financial regulation in emerging markets and helped governments in Asia and Latin America develop regulatory systems for futures and options.
