Fall Events
S.T.A.T. Informational Meeting is a one-time only group meeting held by S.T.A.T. advisors for new members and interested students to learn about the benefits of membership. This gathering provides an opportunity to meet people, ask questions, and join.
T-Shirt Day encourages S.T.A.T. members to wear their S.T.A.T. T-shirts around campus for the chance to win one of more than 200 prizes. Past prizes include two club seats to an Iowa home football game, four tickets for a Hancher event, and free burritos from Panchero's.
Beat State Week invites students to help pump up the Hawkeyes before their football game against the Iowa State Cyclones. Each day is packed with exclusive events, including a Beat State T-shirt giveaway, blood drive, and free lunch for S.T.A.T. members.
Make-A-Wish Game Day is hosted by the Ambassadors for local Make-A-Wish kids and their families. Families enjoy a tailgate with food donated from the First Avenue Hy-Vee, a craft station, and a visit from Herky, the Spirit Squad, and Hawkeye football players.
Homecoming welcomes alumni back to campus with a week of events leading up to the parade and football game. The UIAA is a sponsor and presents the Alumni Welcome Tent and Hungry Hawkeyes.
Hungry Hawkeyes dinner brings students and alumni together for a free dinner and networking opportunities.
Pizza Day provides more than 100 S.T.A.T. members a free lunch at the Airliner, courtesy of the UIAA.
Spring Events
"Mocktail" Party is a great opportunity for S.T.A.T. members to learn cocktail party etiquette from expert Margie Peskin of Search Forward, a career development firm. After attending her class, students practice their newly learned skills with more than a dozen volunteer alumni at a posh cocktail party at the Levitt Center—sans alcohol. Alumni chat about the working world and share advice on interviewing, networking, and life beyond college.
Nearly Naked Mile may sound crazy, but it's for a great cause! Participants strip excess clothing and donate it to the Salvation Army prior to the race. Being nearly naked is optional—you can donate your clothing in a bag and run in your gear or up the ante and wear a great costume. You must donate one article of clothing to participate. This event happens the first weekend in March.
S.T.A.T.venger Hunt is an exciting race across campus to discover the buried S.T.A.T. medallion. S.T.A.T. members receive e-mails each day with clues to guide them closer to the treasure. The prize pack includes Hawkeye goodies, student season tickets to football and basketball games, as well as a complimentary S.T.A.T. membership for the following year.
Senior Send-Off Week helps students celebrate graduation with several UIAA events, including Team Trivia Night, Senior Seminars, and The Last Lecture.
Spring Wings is held at Buffalo Wild Wings, with 100 S.T.A.T. members enjoying a free meal.
