Wake me up before you go-go...

Saying hello to college can mean saying goodbye to that old friend, sleeping in. The transition is rough and the mourning period, resulting in going to class with uncombed hair and a slight odor, lasts a long time (in some cases, all year). So to help give you that extra early morning jolt without the caffeine (and because your classmates are starting to complain about the smell), we've gotten three S.T.A.T. members to name the three songs that help them get their day started. Because, like the song says, "Waking up is hard to do!"...No wait, that was "Breaking up." Scratch that.

Another song with a great beat to shake you out of that comatose state. This song builds up from the start and by the time this song hits the chorus, I'm up out of bed and dancing.

The drums and guitar in the beginning really put you in the mood to start the day.

In addition to being just the trick to getting you up in the morning, this song will make any dance party you're hosting a smashing success. I can't help but get energized whenever I hear it.

When the Snakes on a Plane movie phenomenon was at its highest and this song was on the radio ad nauseum, it never once failed to suck me in and get me grooving. And if Samuel L. Jackson can handle snakes on a plane, we should be able to handle a day of college classes...in theory, anyway.

A classic from the 70's that pumps you up and makes you feel amazing instantly.

Song: "Love Today"
Artist: Mika
Album: Life in Cartoon Motion
I would challenge anyone to still feel sleepy after listening to this song. It's ridiculously upbeat, catchy, and fun. Put on this or any number of other Mika songs in the morning and you won't be able to help but get out of bed dancing.
