St. Louis Iowa Club Scholarship Fund

Each year the St. Louis IOWA Club will hold one or two fundraisers for the St. Louis IOWA Club Scholarship Fund.  This fund is used to provide one or more scholarships to St. Louis area students currently attending the University of Iowa.  Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic achievement and are selected by the University of Iowa admissions office between the fall and spring semester.

In 2010, we raised enough money to provide two $1000 scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year.  This year's recipients were freshman Joseph Upchurch from Hazelwood East and sophomore Lucy Odenwald from Shrewsbury.

I grew up on the west side of St. Louis and attended high school in North County at Hazelwood East High. There I participated in numerous sports such as football, baseball, basketball, etc. As I got to college I decided I wanted to focus more on my artistic side. A healthy amount of my time is spent working on different music, film and art projects. I am a freshmen, I came in as a pre-business major. I decided I wanted to switch over to a newer program Iowa offers which is the Interdepartmental studies self-defined major. Hopefully my major will consist of business, film, music, and art courses.
