Voucher and Gift Certificate Program        
                             

Regulations Governing Certificate Issuance and Use

We are pleased to offer gift certificates and vouchers for payment toward Iowa Voyagers trips. All certificates must be pre-paid to the University of Iowa Alumni Association/Iowa Voyagers by cash, personal check or credit card and must be used within one year from the date of issue. There is a waiting period of 7 business days between the time a certificate is purchased and the time it can be redeemed. Certificates are non-transferable, except back to the original purchaser. Verification of identity is required to redeem the certificate, so as to protect against fraudulent use in the event a certificate is stolen from its owner. Certificates can be rendered for any amount, but most commonly are issued in $100 increments up to a maximum of $1,000 per certificate.  A limit of three (3) certificates can be purchased by one buyer or used by one traveler toward a given trip and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Voyagers discount coupons or certificates. Certificates can be used only as payment towards Iowa Voyagers trips and directly related services, but not toward travel insurance premiums. Iowa Voyagers certificates are not applicable to other UI Alumni Association or University of Iowa services, fees or products. Only the original certificate can be redeemed; no copies accepted. Certificates must be redeemed with the Iowa Voyagers and not directly with tour providers or companies retained by the Iowa Voyagers or with independent travel agencies. The UI Alumni Association, Iowa Voyagers, and the University of Iowa are not responsible for lost or stolen certificates. If the certificate(s) amount is less than the total trip costs, the recipient traveler is responsible for paying any and all additional balances due. If the certificate(s) amount is more than the total trip costs, the excess will be refunded to the original purchaser and is not redeemable for cash to the recipient. Certificate purchasers must be at least 21 years old and recipients must be at least 18 years of age.

Seven days from the purchase, we will send the lucky recipient a letter by certified mail notifying them of your gift, including usage parameters. We can enclose the certificate with the letter or you, the purchaser, can personally give the certificate. However, only one original will be issued.
