Dr. Ken Magid Child Advocacy Service Scholarship
For University of Iowa Students
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Iowa in the semester immediately preceding the trip dates and the semester following the trip dates.
- Be age 17 – 25.
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or international student in lawful F-1 status.
- Have completed at least 12 hours of credit at the UI with a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Not have received the Ken Magid Scholarship previously.
- Submit all application materials to be received in the Iowa Voyagers office no later than February 1, 2009, including:
- Completed Application Form
- Recommendations from at least two individuals (but no more than four) with direct knowledge of your character, skills, background, and qualifications.
- One-page resume showing any previous employment and/or community service activities.
- Essay (minimum of 500 words and maximum of 750 words) addressing these two questions:
- “Why do you think international experiences are valuable for students?”
- “What do you personally expect to gain and give during your Romania trip?”
Return completed Romania application materials no later than February 1, 2009 to:
