Operation: Romania
University of Iowa student travelers helped teenagers in a middle school in Barlad, Romania hone their conversational English skills for two weeks in May. This travel and service opportunity is made possible through the Dr. Ken Magid Scholarship for Child Advocacy administered by the Iowa Voyagers each year. Students may work with either babies and toddlers or with teenagers. To read "The Iowa Voyagers Blog" (with entries by past winners) click here. Being offered again in 2010.

Italian Favorites: Rome and Florence
Italy always beguiles, as Iowa Voyager travelers experienced March when they visited two magnificent cities: monumental Rome, and Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance.  Being offered again in 2010.

Village Life Along The Waterways of Holland and Belgium
The Iowa Voyagers tour of “Village Life Along The Waterways of Holland and Belgium” was a wonderful way to experience a visit to the country called the Netherlands. Being offered again in 2010.

Odyssey to Oxford
This two-week lifelong education program takes you on a rare adventure to Oxford — "city of dreaming spires" — and to the University of Oxford, famous as a great center of learning since the 12th century. Once England's capital, Oxford is located in the heart of England just 50 miles northwest of London. If you’re interested in joining the UIAA on its Odyssey to Oxford in 2010, click here.

Galapagos Islands
Like no place else on Earth, the Galapagos Islands are an ecological wonder of biodiversity that enchant visitors lucky enough to experience them. Charles Darwin made the Galapagos his playground in 1835 when he arrived aboard the H.M.S. Beagle—and what he observed and studied inspired his theories about natural selection and shaped evolutionary science forever. See the photo album. Galapagos trip is being offered again in 2010.

Waterways of Russia
From Moscow to St. Petersburg the Iowa Voyagers experienced the historical waterways of Russia. May 2004 - See the photo album. A Russia trip is being offered in 2010, Russia: Cruise the Passage of Peter the Great.

Ireland the Emerald Isle
This was a magical journey through southern Ireland where luminescent lakes, blue mountains, rock-strewn fields, bogs, and cottages coated in generation of whitewash greeted us around every bend in the road. Ireland is being offered in 2010.
September 2003 - See the photo album.
