Trip Duration: 13 days

On this wide-ranging 14-day tour you will travel from city to country and back again: from gracious Edinburgh to England’s legendary Lake District, from spectacular Snowdonia to the rural Cotswolds to the Roman Baths, finishing in cosmopolitan London. Along the way, you will see history and legend come to life, and enjoy Great Britain’s timeless hospitality. Arriving in Edinburgh to join your small group, no more than 24 travelers, you will visit Edinburgh Castle, see the Royal Mile and Holyrood, and have time on your own to explore the city’s museums, shops and restaurants. Time dependent, you may enjoy an evening performance of the Military Tattoo. Traveling on to the beautiful Lake District, with its parks, lakes, rivers and ancient woodlands, stop to visit William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage and Hill Top, the 17th – century farmhouse owned by Beatrix Potter of Tales of Peter Rabbit fame. Reaching Wales, you’ll understand why it is known as the “land of castles” and the “land of song” when you visit 13th-century Caernarfon Castle, and Snowdonia National Park. Traveling on to England, your exploration will include Stratford-upon-Avon and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Gardens. See Bath’s historic Roman Baths and the Jane Austen Centre before traveling through the Cotswolds to end your journey in London, having stopped along the way to visit Stonehenge. Your day in London will include a panoramic city tour of the Tower of London, Parliament, Buckingham Palace and others. You may extend your time in London with a 3-day/2-night post-tour extension on your own.
