Our Mission

The Iowa Black Alumni Association promotes the general mission and purposes of the University of Iowa and strives to acknowledge and recognize black students and alumni for their achievements and service, while promoting their career and educational opportunites and enhancing the social and economic conditions of prospective, current, and former black students of the University of Iowa.

Iowa Black Alumni Association Scholarship 2017-18

The Iowa Black Alumni Association (IBAA) is pleased to announce that applications are now available to apply for the 2017-18 Scholarship Program. A one thousand dollar ($1000) scholarship will be awarded for the 2017-2018 academic year. The scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student (sophomore through graduate school) who is currently enrolled full time at the University of Iowa and who will be enrolled full time during the next academic year. Completed applications are due no later than Monday, March 6, 2017 and awards will be made by early April.

The University of Iowa African American Council (AAC) is assisting the Iowa Black Alumni Association (IBAA) in the distribution and pre-screening of these applications. For additional information please contact Billie-townsend@uiowa.edu.
