Adelaide B. Caprio
Adelaide "Addy" B. Caprio (06BSN) moved to Iowa City, IA from Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1996. She graduated from Iowa City West High School and began her studies at The University of Iowa in 2001. She is a proud graduate of the College of Nursing (CON) where she was active in the local and state nursing student organizations. Addy served as a tutor and mentor to many students in the CON and continues to mentor students today. While she was enrolled, Addy also served as a WISE Program Mentor. She welcomed thousands of new Hawkeyes to Iowa City as an orientation advisor and as an employee of the admissions office. Prior to graduation, Addy worked at UIHC as a nursing assistant and research assistant. Although there were opportunities at UIHC, Addy accepted a coveted position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL in 2007. Addy graduated with a Masters in Nursing Science from Rush University in September of 2012. She currently works as the Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist at The University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. Addy is proud of her ties to the University of Iowa and continues to cheer on the Hawks every chance she gets. She and her husband, Griffin, reside in Chicago and Addy is an Old Capitol Club Bronze Level member of the Alumni Association.
